I want to keep this anonymous but I can share a few details and my why. I’m a 42 year old women with a husband and two daughters.
For the last couple years and more seriously for the last several months I have been trying so many different things to feel better (weight loss would be an added bonus).
I’ve started strength training, I’m tracking my macros, I’m tracking the food I’m eating, I’m drinking more water, I got an over the counter continuous glucose monitor, I’m working with a wellness/nutrition coach…AND it’s been a slow and oftentimes discouraging road. Granted, I felt better almost immediately…my mood improved and I do get endorphins after working out. However, the weight has been slooooooowly falling off.
The success stories that I see on social media always show the successful end result. I never see the messy middle or the failures. I wanted to create a community of people that might be going through something similar so we can commiserate or celebrate together.
In addition and on the totally other end of the spectrum I love to shop and travel. Mainly, I browse my favorite stores and add things to my wish list (I call it virtual window shopping) because I don’t have an unlimited budget. My family gives travel as gifts for birthdays so we take about 3-4 trips per year. I love planning a trip almost as much as going on it.
At the end of the day I just want a place to share stuff that spark joy for me.
